CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE ANESTHETIST (CRNA)

for a full-time, permanent Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join a team in
Thermopolis, WY.

JOB FUNCTIONS
• Delivery of anesthesia care; pre-anesthesia assessment (collection of data), formulate
specific anesthesia plan, and monitor patients’ physiologic condition consistent with all
types of anesthesia.
• Check all anesthesia equipment prior to the beginning of the first surgery of the day.
Report malfunctioning or missing equipment to the Surgical Services Director
Immediately.
• Prepares the patient for surgery and outpatient procedures administers pre/intra/post
anesthesia. Performs an assessment immediately prior to induction of anesthesia and
documents this in the medical record. Attends to patients as needed; allay fears and
answer questions as necessary for the patient
• Functions and actively involved with the PAT process to help assure patients are safe to
proceed with anesthesia. This includes provider to provider communication and
discussion with nursing staff.
• Document pertinent information on patient’s chart promptly, completely and accurately.
Obtain consents with appropriate signatures.
• Displays ability to intubate most patients with ease, manages the patient’s airway and
pulmonary status through the perioperative process
• Performs a smooth induction of anesthesia for patients requiring general anesthetic and
performs smooth patient emergence and recovery from anesthesia addressing pain and
anesthesia side effects.
• Prevents and manages complications through selecting, obtaining, ordering and
administering medications, fluids or ventilator support in correct dosages and methods
• Follows the five (5) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors
• Stays with the patient as long as needed and until responsibility for proper patient care
has been assumed by other qualified individuals. Provides follow-up evaluation and care
related to anesthesia complications and/or side effects.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Graduate of an anesthesia training program accredited by the Council on
Accreditation of a Nurse Anesthetists and the American Association of Nurse
Anesthetists.
• Current Wyoming RN License that complies with the State regulatory requirements
relating to the practice of anesthesia.
• Must possess communication skills to relate to the public in person.
• Certified by the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.
• Prefer at least 5 years’ experience in General and Regional Anesthesia.
• Must possess communication skills to relate to the public in person.
• Demonstrate good organizational abilities.
• Seeks proficiency in computer applications.
